Yesterday

Snow came in a blizzard driving down country lanes; twirling flakes drifting in hedges, sweeping up and falling soft against wipe of blade on glass.

Everything took on a grey scale - trees, hedges, fields, sky - all looked grey, bleak-cold; eerie...

La Cienega Just Smiled

This is the title of a song written and sung by Ryan Adams. It's a song I heard for the first time this evening on the Bob Harris Show on BBC Radio 2 just before midnight...what a lovely end to the day...

'Did the earth move for you?'

After the earthquake last night or rather in the early hours of this morning, all seems to be back to normal in the UK. Of course, being British has it's good points, we tend not to be too bothered about such things, in fact it was the talking point of the day...

Personally I didn't feel a thing, no quaking floors or movement underfoot, but then I had just had a shower and was busy drying my hair, and not really thinking of much, other than it was late and I needed to get to bed. It was my son who noticed there was something not quite right. After his alert...'what the **** was THAT!', I switched off the hair dryer and noticed that the storage heater in the hall was shaking visibly! Apparently I missed the bed vibrating...or so my husband informed me when I eventually climbed into bed this morning, pity...now THAT might have been fun! LOL

Anyway...all's well here...at least I hope so!
